Though many Canadians could not fight on the front, people did what they could at home. Churches, organizations, and charities worked to collect food and materials and knit clothing for troops. This registration card is from the Children’s Scripture Union, the children's sector of the Scripture Union, which made a set of guided daily Bible readings with explanatory notes directed at children. Booklets with Bible readings were published and sent to the troops during the war. This would have been welcome reading for troops in the dreary trenches.
