This postcard was sent from Shorncliffe Camp in England, a holding location for troops destined for the Western Front. By December 1916, more than 35,000 Canadian soldiers were at Shorncliffe and neighboring camps. In 1917, the camp became a hospital for the Canadian Army Medical Corps.

Dear Mrs. Ferguson,
Thought I would drop a line to let you know Clarence is in the best of health and having a fine time. Have first been to London for six days. Will have lots to tell you folks when I come home.
Sincerely Yours
Clarence
