Learning Together: Experiencing the Joy of Kindergarten Family Conference 2026
In collaboration with the York Region Child and Family Collaborative, the York District Catholic School Board and the EarlyON Child and Family Centres in York Region, the York Region District School Board invite families of children eligible for Kindergarten in September 2026 to join us for two-part conference. This free, family-friendly conference supports caregivers and children as they prepare for a successful transition to kindergarten. Families can choose to register for one session or both sessions of this two-part conference.
Part 1: Virtual session (adults only)
Thursday, February 26, 2026, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Highlights:
- Kindergarten Overview- What families can expect when their child starts school.
- Keynote: Laurie McIntosh; Discover how relationships, shared reading, and everyday moments support children’s social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Expert Panel & Q&A Hear from School Board Principals & Educators.
- Learn about school board and community resources.

Part 2: One in-person session with your child (choose AM or PM session)

Richmond Green Secondary School

- Children and adults will enjoy interactive activities.

- Each family takes home a Conference Bag filled with books and resources.
Register for AM session: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Register for PM session: 1:00- 4:00 p.m.
