Early Intervention Services of York Region

Mission

York Region Early Intervention Services supports families who have children with special needs in their homes or in licensed child care settings through the Infant and Child Development Services program and the Inclusion Support Services Program.

 

What types of services/support do we offer?

  • Child development screening and developmental monitoring
  • Development of individual goal plans and identification of activities within your child's daily routine that teach new skills and promote development
  • Occupational therapy and physiotherapy consultation 
  • Referrals to community agencies
  • Transition to school support

 

Infant and Child Development Services

Services are offered at home, in community settings or at York Region offices.

 

Who is eligible for this service?

The Infant and Child Development Program supports children 0-6 years who:

  • Live in York Region
  • Have a diagnosed developmental disability such as cerebral palsy or autism
  • Have delays in their development
  • Who are at risk of developmental delay due to events that occurred prior to, or soon after, birth such as prematurity or low birth weight

 

Inclusion Support Services

Services are offered in licensed child care, home or care, before and after-school settings approved recreation programs.

 

Who is eligible for this service?

The Inclusion Support Services Program supports children 0-13 years who:

  • Live in York Region
  • Attend licensed child care, home care, before and after school programs or an approved recreation program in York Region
  • Require support to fully participate in licensed child care programs
