Along the Caen Canal, Canadians fought German forces in one-on-one combat to free the French citizens of Caen from Nazi Germany. Above are my personal photographs of the beautiful canal in April 2017. Below is a photo of the Caen Canal in the Second World War. I stayed in a hotel to the left and our bus picked us up on the right of the canal.
