School Permission
- Contact your Guidance Counselor to determine if you qualify to take an online learning course during the summer session.
- If approved, you may take at most: 1 credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
- If you are enrolling in both CHV2O and GLC2O, we recommend that the two courses are taken through the same program. The two courses must be taken consecutively in session 1 and 2.
Application
- My Pathway Planner will be used to register for a course offered through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
- Online Learning Secondary Summer School will be listed as Sec - Summer Online Learning (Asynchronous) in My Pathway Planner.
Begin Online Application through My Pathway Planner
- Once you have submitted an application via My Pathway Planner, please contact Guidance using your school's Summer School approval process.
Registration period: March 24, 2026 - June 15, 2026
YRDSB students who are currently attending the Adult Day School must apply through My Pathway Planner.
You may take at most ONE credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
If you are enrolling in both CHV2O and GLC2O, we recommend that the two courses are taken through the same program. The two courses must be taken consecutively in session 1 and 2.

Once you have submitted an application via My Pathway Planner, you will be contacted by email if there are issues with your application.

Applicants attending a school board such as YCDSB, TDSB, DDSB, private school students, etc.
Meet with your Guidance Counselor before applying.
If you qualify to take a course with Online Learning Secondary Summer School, request that your Guidance Counsellor sends a confirmation email to online.learning@yrdsb.ca.
The email subject line must include your full name, OEN, and the course code for which you have permission. The body of the email message may be left blank. In addition, attach a copy of the Original Transcript OR Ontario Student Status Sheet. If approved, students are eligible to take 1 credit during the summer session.
You may take at most: 1 credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.

You should receive an automated email confirming the office has received your online application. If you do not receive an email, contact online.learning@yrdsb.ca immediately. Provide your first, last name, and course. Indicate that you didn't receive the automated email message.

Adults 18 years of age or older, who are not attending a regular day school.
YRDSB students currently attending the Adult Day School must apply through My Pathway Planner (this application is for external applicants only).

- After Online Learning receives and reviews your online application, you will receive an email with a status update regarding your application, or further instructions to complete your application. Please follow the instructions in the email in a timely manner to ensure you are registered into the course. If you do not receive an email within a few days of submitting your online application, please notify us at: online.learning@yrdsb.ca.
Note: Online Learning Secondary Summer School does not contact applicants advising them of incomplete applications. Ensure that a complete application is submitted. Visa students, non-residents of Ontario, and others who do not qualify to take courses in Ontario will be required to pay the full tuition fee.
Notes:
Students are eligible to take one full credit during the summer session. Session courses such as CHV2O and GLC2O, if available, cannot be taken simultaneously during the summer session. Students who choose to apply for both courses must take the courses consecutively in sessions 1 and 2. It is recommended that students enroll in both sessions through the same program.
