School Permission
- Contact your Guidance Counselor to determine if you qualify to take an online learning course during the summer session.
- If approved, you may take at most: 1 credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
- If you are enrolling in both CHV2O and GLC2O, we recommend that the two courses are taken through the same program. The two courses must be taken consecutively in session 1 and 2.
Application
- MyPathwayPlanner will be used to register for a course offered through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
- Online Learning Secondary Summer School will be listed as Sec - Summer Online Learning (Asynchronous) in MyPathwayPlanner.
- Once you have submitted an application via MyPathwayPlanner, please contact Guidance using your school's Summer School approval process.
YRDSB students who are currently attending the Adult Day School at Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre for Learning must apply through MyPathwayPlanner.
You may take at most ONE credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.
If you are enrolling in both CHV2O and GLC2O, we recommend that the two courses are taken through the same program. The two courses must be taken consecutively in session 1 and 2.
Application

- Online Learning Secondary Summer School will be listed as Sec - Summer Online Learning (Asynchronous) in MyPathwayPlanner.
Once you have submitted an application via MyPathwayPlanner, you will be contacted by email if there are issues with your application.
- Registration period: April 15, 2025 - June 6, 2025
- Applicants attending a school board such as YCDSB, TDSB, DDSB, private school students, etc...
- Meet with your Guidance Counselor before applying.
If you qualify to take a course with Online Learning Secondary Summer School, request that your Guidance Counsellor sends a confirmation email to online.learning@yrdsb.ca.
The email subject line must include your full name, OEN, and the course code for which you have permission. The body of the email message may be left blank. In addition, attach a copy of the Original Transcript OR Credit Counselling Summary. If approved, students are eligible to take 1 credit during the summer session.
You may take at most: 1 credit through Online Learning Secondary Summer School.

You should receive an automated email confirming the office has received your online application. If you do not receive an email, contact online.learning@yrdsb.ca immediately. Provide your first, last name, and course. Indicate that you didn't receive the automated email message.

Visa students, non-residents of Ontario, and others who do not qualify to take courses in Ontario will be required to pay the full tuition fee.

- Adults 18 years of age or older, who are not attending a regular day school.
- Submit all documents before applying.
YRDSB students currently attending the Adult Day School must apply through MyPathwayPlanner (this application is for external applicants only).
Students are eligible to take one full credit during the summer session.
Note: Adults 18-20 yrs. who are not attending a regular day school, must submit a Letter of Exit or Proof of Graduation from the last school attended. Applicants not attending a day school (must submit a letter of exit from the last school attended). Submit all documents prior to applying online.

- Expired documents will not be accepted.
- For applicants not able to email documents, please contact the office for other options at online.learning@yrdsb.ca.
- The Registration Coordinator will contact applicants if a registration interview is required.

Students are eligible to take one full credit during the summer session. Session courses such as CHV2O and GLC2O, if available, cannot be taken simultaneously during the summer session. Students who choose to apply for both courses must take the courses consecutively in sessions 1 and 2. It is recommended that students enroll in both sessions through the same program.
