Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability (LTD) may assist you if you are unable to work due to an injury or illness with financial support and access to rehabilitation services and emotional support to help you get better.

Mandatory enrolment into the OTIP LTD plan
- All Permanent employees as of the first day of employment.
- No form is required.
- OPC members follow a different process.
Not eligible to enrol into the OTIP LTD plan
- All Temp/Term employees

OMERS Pension Plan

Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System

Defined benefit pension plan
Designed to provide a lifetime retirement income
All permanent staff must be enrolled into OMERS.
Exceptions
- Employees who have an Ontario College of Teachers certificate (OCT)
  - regardless of role or status of OCT
  - immediate enrollment required into the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan
- Reemployed OMERS pensioners

Defined benefit pension plan
Designed to provide a lifetime retirement income
If certified with the Ontario College of Teachers, an employee must be enrolled in the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (TPP) regardless of position or status of membership.
Provide OCT Number upon hire or as soon as it has been received or attained.
